4th of July Outfits You Can Wear Again

Can you really be called an American if you aren’t wearing red, white and blue on the 4th of July? Most of us have some sort of apparel with the American flag on it, but to me it always seems odd to wear these items if it’s not Independence Day. In this post I am sharing some 4th of July outfits that can be worn all summer.

July 4th Outfit Inspiration

When I was in grade school I would tell people that my favorite holiday was the 4th of July because I didn’t want to sound like everyone else and say Christmas – but let’s be honest my favorite holiday is Christmas. However, the 4th of July is still one of my favorite holidays; I mean what’s not to love? Parades, fireworks, grilling, boating, swimming – there are countless fun activities to do.

Apparel with the American flag can sometimes seem weird to wear if it isn’t the holiday. Since I am frugal, I don’t like to buy clothes that I only plan on wearing once. This is why I have put together a couple of outfits that will meet the red, white and blue criteria but you can wear them again.

Casual Parade and Fireworks Outfit

My method to create a 4th of July look that can easily be worn again is to find a piece of clothing that has two of the holiday colors, but missing the third. You can then accessorize to add the third color.

Here I paired a romper that is red and white with blue earrings. I like the polka dots on this romper, it gives it a classic feel. It is also a halter top, which is different for me. The romper is quite light so it could also be worn as a swimsuit cover up. I found this romper on Amazon for $23.99.

The statement earrings really dress up this look. Although they are large, they are not too heavy! They are only $11.89 and also found on Amazon!

The light material of this romper is great to face the summer heat, but when it’s time for fireworks the temperature drops. Be sure to have a jacket on hand in case you get cold! A denim jacket goes great with this look because it’s blue.

Blue and White Swimsuit

Another popular thing to do on the 4th is go swimming or boating. I followed my same rule here where I found a swimsuit that has two of the colors on the American flag, blue and white. To make it look a little more festive, I paired it with a red and white towel.

I’m a sucker for high-waisted swimsuits, they are so flattering! I love the striped detail on this suit and I think the quality is good for the price ($16.99). The bottoms are full coverage – so they aren’t too cheeky. The heart-shaped sunglasses complement the swimsuit to give it more of a 50’s vibe.

I hope you enjoyed these outfit ideas, especially if you are wanting to mix it up from the classic Old Navy t-shirt. Thanks for reading!
