Summer 2019 Hair Accessories

A hair accessory can dress up the simplest of outfits. My favorite thing to wear is jeans and and a t-shirt because it’s comfortable, however it can be boring. It’s easy to dress up this look by adding a hair accessory. In this post I am talking about my favorite hair accessories this summer and how I am wearing them. 

Pearl Hair Clips 

I’ve talked about them before and I’m talking about them again – I love these clips! They can add a touch of class to any outfit. If I’m not wearing statement earrings, I am wearing simple white pearl earrings, so these pearl clips complement my style perfectly.

You can wear these clips in a variety of ways. I ordered these clips from Amazon for $7.99 and they come in a pack of four. Each clip is different and they are fun to mix and match.

My favorite way to wear these clips is by just adding them to the side of my hair. Usually I just wear one clip but occasionally I mix it up and wear two.

Hair Scarves

I’m a big fan of the hair scarf. Really you can wear these scarves in a variety of ways; on your purse, around your neck, etc. But I’m specifically talking about wearing them in your hair today. 

You know those mornings where you wake up late and your hair just isn’t doing what you want it to do? Hair scarves are perfect for that moment. When my hair just isn’t working with me I throw it in a low pony and add a hair scarf. It’s so easy and so stylish! It tricks people into thinking I actually put effort into getting ready that morning! You can wear it in a side pony or half up as well. 

Madewell Bandana

Another look I’m loving is braiding scarves into your hair. To do this, I folded the scarf in half and bobby pinned it to the side of my hair. I then separated my hair into two sections and braided as if the scarf was the third strand. I secured the bottom with a small elastic and knotted the end of the scarf. 

The scarf/bandana I am wearing is my favorite from Madewell. However I also love hair scarf scrunchies, they are even easier to throw in your hair! Altar’d State has some great options and I’ve recently come across the new ones in Kaitlyn Bristowe’s scrunchie line – which appear to be mostly sold out.

Knotted Headbands

Another one of my favorite hair accessories is the knotted headband. The ones with pearls I find particularly cute! Below are some headbands I’m loving.
