Buying wedding guest dresses in 2020 has been a little iffy. I’ve been invited to multiple weddings but we weren’t certain if they would get postponed. So far, we have just one wedding that is still happening this summer. In this post I’m highlighting tips to find an affordable guest wedding dress and my favorite places to find them.

Weddings are being postponed left and right this year. I decided to postpone my wedding that was scheduled for August 1, but not everyone sees that as the best option for them. You can read about details of my wedding being postponed here.
When looking for guest wedding dresses, I wanted to be sure they were at an affordable price this summer. I didn’t want to invest in a dress if a wedding still had possibility to get postponed. This ended up being a good idea, because the wedding I bought this dress for did end up getting postponed!
Outfit Details
This wrap midi dress is still available from Vici, but only in a size small. So, I have linked some similar styles below. My necklace is from Baublebar, I’ve been wearing it a lot because it’s my favorite. The shoes are a few years old, but these are VERY similar.
Tips on Finding Affordable Wedding Guest Dresses This Year
Here are some tips on where to find an affordable wedding dress this year.
Check The Sales Section First
Don’t temp yourself when shopping online by immediately clicking the “new” dresses section. Instead, go straight to the sales page and filter based on your size and price range.
If you don’t find anything you like, then you can start looking at the full price items.
Shop During Holidays
You’re guaranteed to find big savings during a holiday. I found a wedding guest dress for this year on a Memorial Day sale. If you have fall weddings, maybe wait until Labor Day to make your purchase.
Check the Guest Wedding Dresses on Amazon
Sometimes Amazon dresses can be hit or miss, but if you read the reviews you should be able to make an informed decision on the quality and fit. I’ve had luck with buying guest dresses on Amazon in the past. Here is an example of one of the dresses. Also, they’re really easy to return.
My Favorite Places to Shop For Wedding Guest Dresses
Here is a list of the top places I look for an affordable wedding guest dress:
Lulu’s, Nordstrom and ASOS have been my favorite places to find dresses for a while, but I’ve recently added VICI and Nasty Gal to my list. Here is an example of a dress I got from ASOS last year.
The dress I’m wearing in this post is from VICI, it is my first purchase from the site. I also recently looked a Nasty Gal’s site and noticed that they had some cute dresses in the $30 range, I think it’s worth checking out as well.

Such pretty photos!! It’s such a bummer everything has to be postponed, and I’m so sorry your wedding is postponed too. Last summer three of my cousins got married and I’m so thankful they all chose last summer to do it. Seemed weird for them to get married in the same summer at first (all three are siblings) but in hindsight it seemed like the best possible choice! I’ve seen so many cute items at Lulu’s and Asos but I’ve never actually shopped at either place. So you think the quality is good? Thanks!

Thanks so much, Grace! Definitely a bummer that my wedding had to be postponed, but I’m only looking at the positives – for example I was really procrastinating a lot.
Yes – I do think that Lulu’s and Asos have good quality products. I have ordered from both and my experiences were very good. It can be overwhelming to shop on their sites (there are so many options) but I found it was worth it in the end.
Thanks!
