I never thought I needed a wedding reception dress until I saw a TikTok video that completely changed my mind. From there, I was on the hunt for a specific dress, the Nadine Merabi Sadie White. Fate happened to be on my side and I lucked out and got the dress of my dreams – but only after I looked high and low for similar options. In this blog post I’m sharing all the details on my wedding reception dress and where you can find similar styles.

My TikTok Viral Wedding Reception Dress
The video of me unboxing my wedding reception dress received over 1 million views! I couldn’t believe it. Also 95% of the comments were positive, and that is pretty good for TikTok.
Three weeks before my wedding I saw Bride Babe, a popular wedding TikToker, post a slow motion video wearing the Nadine Merabi Sadie White dress. I was obsessed and had to have it – even if it was not in my budget. For the record, I never splurge like this. This dress is $725, but it was $650 when I bought it.
I sat on it for a couple of days and finally decided to buy the dress. However, I soon realized it was sold out. I waited for it to restock the next week, but it sold out again.
Then I posted on TikTok about my struggles with finding the dress. The Monday before my wedding someone commented on the video and let me know it was in stock again. I ordered it that day. If fit perfectly when it arrived on Thursday and I wore it to our wedding on Saturday.
Why I Recommend a Wedding Reception Dress
I’ve received mixed feedback on my decision to switch dresses at the wedding. Some people can’t fathom wanting to get out of your beautiful wedding dress. For me, I was concerned about my long dress getting dirty and I didn’t love the way it was bustled.
I also liked the idea of having something more fun to dance in. I waited until after the special dances to make the switch and we captured photos in it right before the photographer left.
The dress was such a hit! I felt amazing in it and had so much fun dancing in it all night.

A couple things to note about the dress:
- It is HEAVY – when I received the box I couldn’t believe the weight. However, once it is on it doesn’t feel heavy.
- You will probably lose some beads. Each little piece of fringe is filled with crystal beading. I twisted around a lot in the dress and lost quite a few strands. However, I think that is expected with the way I was dancing and there are so many that if you lose a couple strands of beads it is not a big deal at all.
And if you love the dress but don’t want it in white, it also comes in silver, gold, and champagne.
Less Expensive Alternatives
When the Sadie White dress sold out and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to get it, I did some searching for other options. My DMs were also flooded with links to other dresses to review. Additionally, this dress is just not in everyone’s budget or they aren’t willing to pay that much for a second dress. For these reasons I have put together a list of similar white fringe dresses.
