If you follow a lot influencers, like I do, you are probably very familiar with FabFitFun. Over a year ago, after seeing probably over 100 Instagram posts, I finally became a FabFitFun subscriber. In this post I want to bring to light by honest, unsponsored review of the FabFitFun summer box.
One Year of FabFitFun
The first box I received was the spring box in 2018. I was so excited about everything in it! I love receiving these boxes because they are a quarterly gift to myself. Usually they are packed full of things I wouldn’t usually buy. The boxes also introduce to me to new brands.
Overall my experience has been really positive with FabFitFun. They allow you to customize what you want in your box each month which is something I really look forward to. However, once I did not receive two of the items I had selected during customization and it really bothered me. This annoyed to the point that I was thinking about unsubscribing, but I talked to a customer service representative and they sent me the items I was missing right away – free charge. I really appreciated that, so I can definitely say that FabFitFun has great customer service. This encounter made me so happy that I subscribed for another year!
Summer Box 2019
Without further ado, below are my thoughts on each item I received in the FabFitFun summer box.
Spiritual Gangster Maya Kimono
This kimono is the most expensive item I received in my box, it’s retailed at $60. However, I am very skeptical of this. I feel that the quality of this kimono is not very good. The stitching is sloppy and there is a hole in both pockets of mine! Regardless of the quality I still do think this is cute and I’m still going to wear it, no one will notice that there are holes in the pockets but me.
Since the kimono has a busy pattern I’m pairing it with a white v-neck, jeans and heels to dress it up a little bit.
XO, Sienna Black Felt Letter Board
These letter boards have been popular for a while. I have wanted one but not badly enough to go out and get one, so I am so happy this was in my box. I used to write movie quotes every week on my white board at college, I’m thinking about doing that again with this felt board. The only struggle is keeping my cat from pulling the letters off!
Jennifer Zeuner Star Double Necklace
Anytime there is jewelry in my box I am happy. I like this necklace because it is so simple and can be paired with a lot of different things. Also the stars are so appropriate to wear for the 4th of July which is right around the corner.
Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream
My hair can get frizzy in the summer so I wanted to try out this styling cream. The directions are to apply to wet hair and style normally, but I applied it to my dry hair the other morning and it didn’t make it look greasy. I have a lot of flyaways on the top of my head and I used this styling cream to pat them down, and I think it worked! Also I really like the smell of this product. I doubt this is something I would ever want to purchase again but I am definitely happy with it for the time being.
Coola Organic SPF 30 Makeup Setting Sunscreen Spray
It was great to see another Coola product in my box! I recently reviewed their face moisturizer with SPF on another blog post. I have been wearing the moisturizer under my makeup everyday but this week I tried this setting spray and I really like it! It’s so easy to apply but I will say it does make my face feel a little too dry.
Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray
A few spritz of this spay easily moisturizes your face! Since the Coola spray made my face feel dry I have been counteracting it by applying this rose facial spray daily as well. The scent of this is also very pleasant!
Invisibobble Original Duo Pack
I have a few of these already and I love them! The don’t leave dents in your hair so it is great to have a few more since they are easy to lose.
Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Mask
I love a good face mask they are perfect when you are wanting to do a little self care. I tried out this mask and right away it started burning my face. It was burning so much that my eyes were watering! I wasn’t sure if this was normal or if I was having a reaction to it. I waited a minute or so and the burning went away so I assumed it was normal. After I washed it off my skin felt really great! However, I’m not looking forward to using this again because of how badly it burned at first.
Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask
My feet get really dry in the summer because of all the sandals I wear so a foot mask is just what I need! I’ve slept with this on my feet and apply the excess product to my knees because they get dry too. This product was a great addition to the summer box!
Overall Opinion of the FabFitFun Summer Box
While the kimono is not my favorite, I still really enjoyed this box. The skincare products are fantastic. They are things I wouldn’t usually buy so they are such a nice treat!
