I don’t know about you, but I could really use a vacation right about now. However, because of Covid-19, that isn’t really an option. So I’ve put together a list of vacation movies that will make you feel like you took a trip yourself. Many of them are cheesy but sometimes that’s just what you need. I’ve also put together some outfits inspired by the films!

There are some movies that just speak to you. And they don’t have to be critically acclaimed, sometimes they’re just good and you appreciate them for what they are.
For me, a movie is 10 times better when there are adorable outfits and a fun location.
Last week I watched Just Go With It on Netflix. In this movie they take a trip to Hawaii. It was a fun movie to watch, but it really made me want to go on vacation. I figured I’m probably not the only one who feels this way right now.
So I thought I would round up some of my favorite vacation movies and share them in case you’re feeling the same way.
My Top Five Vacation Movies
I love these movies not just because they are overall a lot of fun to watch, what makes them even better are the locations and the outfits. I created some outfit collages inspired by each of these vacation movies. The outfits were a lot of fun to put together, I hope you enjoy them!
1. Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia 2
A fun fact about me is that I probably like the Mamma Mia movies more than the average person. I legitimately sobbed at the theater when I watched the second movie and I listen to the soundtracks all the time.
It’s so cheesy, but I don’t care. I love everything about these movies. They are just so full of life and I love that they take place in Greece. Greece is one of the top places I would like to travel!
Another fun fact is that they actually filmed the second movie in Croatia, which is also gorgeous!
This outfit is inspired by young Donna in the second movie. I love every single one of her outfits in the film. Her style is so 70’s and carefree.
2. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
In this movie one of the girls also visits Greece and, of course, finds love. My friends and I loved this movie in high school and always compared ourselves to the characters.
I think I first saw this movie when I was in middle school and I loved it ever since. When I was still loopy from getting my wisdom teeth out, I was adamant that we go home and watch The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
For this outfit, I could totally see Lena wearing this in Greece. I think the jeans here are really cute. It’s sort of hard to see, but they have embroidered daisies on them.
3. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Italy is the ultimate travel destination, right? The Lizzie McGuire Movie was one of my absolute favorites growing up. I remember rewinding the movie probably 50 times in my grandma’s living room to make sure I had the lyrics to “What Dreams Are Made Of” memorized.
For this outfit, a bell sleeve top was a must! And of course I paired it with bell bottom jeans.
4. Dirty Dancing
So the location of Dirty Dancing isn’t as exciting as the first three options since it takes place at a resort in the U.S. However, this movie definitely deserves to be in my top vacation movies list, it’s a classic.
This Dirty Dancing inspired outfit includes a body suit and some fun Keds! This is a fun twist on an outfit that Baby wears in the movie.
Nobody puts Baby in a corner!
5. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Honestly, I struggled to select a movie for the fifth spot. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is VERY different than the other films on this list, it’s rated R.
But I like it and I really wanted to style a Hawaiian outfit so it gets my number five spot today!
I think this tropical sarong is perfect for Hawaii! And instead of a lei, I like these floral earrings!

I considered a lot of movies, but only five could make it on the top of my list. However, I did want to list a few other good vacation movies to consider!
