This is my honest review of the FabFitFun fall box. I’ve been a FabFitFun customer for a couple of years now. Some of my absolute favorite beauty items I have discovered from this box and some of the items I’ve received were “meh.” Here is a roundup of all the items I received in my FabfFitFun fall box and my thoughts on them.
This post contains affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you were to purchase any of the items linked at no additional cost to you. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My fall box included $407 worth of products and I only paid $45 for it; I pay for the annual subscription so I save $5 per month.
I also didn’t take any fun pictures of the box because it arrived on my doorstep in not the best of shape. It was smashed up quite a bit, but that is obviously not FabFitFun’s fault.
Botkier New York Trigger Backpack
The first item I received is this backpack. I fully embraced the backpack as a purse trend when I received one in a previous box. The retail value of this is $100, as stated by FabFitFun, but I can only find a similar product for $178.
This backpack does not feel like a $100 bag, it feels cheap. However, the $178 variation looks to be of higher quality. I would never pay full price for it but I think it is a good addition to the box. The leather look is great for fall!
SOIA & KYO Woven Scarf With Fringe
I was very happy to receive this in my box! I already have a very similar item, which I refer to as my shawl. This item will likely get the most use out of this box.
However, one big issue I have with this product is that it had an odor when I took it out of the box. I’ve spent too much time trying to pinpoint how to describe the smell, but I would say it smells like bad body odor. It will definitely need to be washed before I can wear it. I haven’t washed it yet, but I’m confident the smell will go away.
Update: It does not smell after it has been washed and dried.
This scarf-cardigan crossover retails for $85. I wouldn’t recommend you spend that much on this. The similar product that I already have I think I bought from Target for around $5, this was a few years ago. Currently there are a lot of cute alternatives on Amazon, for around half the price of this one. All of the items linked below come in at least five colors.
JENNY BIRD Leana Pendant
This is a pretty necklace. I am wearing mostly gold jewelry these days, but it is nice to have something silver to mix it up. I like that it is layered and simple so it can go with a lot of outfits. This product retails for $115. Again, I wouldn’t pay that for it, but I like that this product is in the box.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
Anastasia Beverly Hills is THE brow brand. I have used their pomade before and I am a fan. However, I do think that the NYX pomade that is half the price is very comparable. Since I am familiar with the brand I was excited to try this out.
I like that this product is clear. I recently tried out a tinted gel and it looked weird, I only tried it once. The only downside of this product is the smell, it smells like alcohol, but that wouldn’t stop me from using it.
Overall, I do like this product and I was happy to receive a product from a brand I already know and like in the fall box. Retail value is $22.
Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes In Juice Cleanse
I first received these sugar cubes in the fall box last year. They smelled so good I wanted to eat them! I decided to get them again when I was given the option for the fall box this year. Retail value is $16, I think these would make a great gift!
Hythe Tranquility Sleep Mist
I am not really into essential oils, but the one I do like is lavender simply because the smell does help me relax. This sleep mist is a combination of lavendar, witch hazel and rice water.
The instructions for use are to spray on your skin, body and on your pillow and sheets before bed. For some reason, I didn’t like reading that something that is intended to be sprayed on your face should also be sprayed onto your sheets and pillows.
Basically, this product makes your sheets smell good and it is okay for your skin. Will is actually help you sleep? Probably not. It retails for $22.
The Beauty Crop Glow Milk Liquid Highlighter
I am a sucker for good packaging and I think they nailed it with this product. “Glow Milk” is in a cute little milk carton.
I like this highlighter, it’s the first liquid highlighter I’ve tried. However, I don’t think I’ll be throwing out my favorite highlighter, which is this palette from Tarte.
But overall, I liked this product and I’m glad it was in the FabFitFun fall box. It gets bonus points for good packaging.
The Laundress Crease Release Spray
A product that will get rid of wrinkles without ironing or steaming? Sign me up!
I was pretty skeptical that this Crease Release spray would actually work, so of course I had to test it out. First, I tried it on the woven scarf that came in the box. There were pretty large creases in the thick fabric. The wrinkles were unaffected by the spray. However, spraying this on it was a MAJOR improvement to the smell of that scarf. This spray has a fresh and clean scent.
Then I decided to take a wrinkled t-shirt and test it out. It’s important to note that the product description states that it “easily removes moderate wrinkles.” From the results below I would say that it did that, as some of these wrinkles I would consider to be more than moderate.
I probably sprayed this shirt 20 – 30 times to get these results. As you can see in the “after” photo, the shirt was a little wet.
Overall, this spray did what it said it would do and left my shirt smelling fresh and clean. It gets a thumbs up from me.
FabFitFun Fall Box Final Overview
This was a good box. The majority of the items in this box I wouldn’t be willing to pay full price for, but I’m also very skeptical of the pricing in every box. They’re running a business after all and it looks better to say that the product is worth a lot. I’m happy to have gotten all of this for $45.
My favorite items in the box were the exfoliating cubes, the brow gel and the Crease Release spray.
My least favorite item was the sleep mist. The scarf would have been at the top of my list if it didn’t smell so awful.
