It’s so odd when you are at the point in life when you are no longer going back to school. I mean, that’s what you did in the fall for most of your life. This is my third “back to school” season where I won’t be going back. However, that doesn’t mean this still can’t be a time to start fresh, get organized and snag some awesome sales!
Fall is For New Beginnings
Right before school started every year I would stand in front the mirror in my bedroom with my favorite back to school wardrobe and think, “This is my year.” I always thought I was going to be a completely new person with each school year. Maybe not a new person, but one that was organized and more fashionable. I was never the kid who dreaded school starting, I would count down the days in anticipation.
Back to school was always an exciting time because it essentially felt like a new beginning. I liked going to new classes and getting to know new people. I think this excitement has been engrained in me because even though I’m not going back to school I still feel like starting fresh at this time of the year.
Getting Organized
When it came to school supplies there was one that was more important than the rest, my planner. I wrote a blog post in February about my Bloom Daily Planner and I’m still loving it. Every morning at my desk I sip my coffee, check my emails, look at my calendar and write my day down in my planner.

The Backpack Trend
Even if you aren’t going back to school you can rock the backpack! The mini backpack is a practical (and cute) alternative to a purse. I’ve been using the backpack I received from FabFitFun recently and it’s so convenient! I’m also currently on the market for a backpack that will fit my large work computer, I’ve been shopping around and found quite a few cute options, which I thought I would share!
Prepare for Screen Time
Nothing makes you look more studious than a pair of glasses. I’ve been wearing my blue light glasses everyday at work for months and I love them! If you are wanting to look “smarter” for back to school season or wanting to prepare for more screen time, you should check out these blue light glasses that are only $16.99. Scout For Back to School Sales
Perhaps the best part of back to school season are the great sales. My mom and I always went to the mall and found great deals for my back to school wardrobe. I always found the best denim sales at this time of year!
Usually we would go shopping during the annual tax free weekend. Unfortunately this year’s tax free weekend has already passed in Iowa. But Iowa is not the only state that does this! Click here to see which states participate and the dates!
